Every now and again, it needs a cosmic reboot. It's happening now, and you? You're a passenger in this car. We're obliged to recommend you buckle up.
This weekend promises a hard hit of a pothole or two, possibly deploying life's airbag at the most inconvenient time. Need we point out that planning an outfit around two black eyes is not a good look for an Edit Insider?
Lean in. Here's what's happening.
Overnight Friday into Saturday, Venus, the planet of love, money and all those things we value, does a U-ey. She'll stay that way, retrograding until mid-November.
First, and we need to be clear about this: This does NOT mean your love life is canceled.
It does mean it's under review.
Unless you have a Taurus or Libra rising, in which case you may very well feel like Venus mowed you down, then threw it in reverse to run over you again, just for good measure.
Expect the review to be packed with bureaucratic delays and emotional forms that need to be filled out in triplicate. Old feelings resurface, exes text, and that thing you were sure you wanted suddenly doesn't interest you so much.
Alert all of mankind: This is not a good time to start something new with either the heart or the wallet.
It is, however, an excellent time to ask whether what you have is actually worth what you're paying for it.
While Venus is toying with your emotions, Mars and Pluto are in a full-on standoff. Raw drive on one side, the need for control on the other. Mercury, the messenger planet, gets caught between them, so words land harder than intended and everybody thinks they're right.
This added bit of drama peaks early Saturday morning.
Somebody will want to win the argument.

For the peace of the planet, smile and walk away.
Then, from late Saturday morning until early Sunday evening, the Moon goes off the grid. There's no signal, no direction, and very little that gets started will stick.
Sunday adds one more charming obstacle: The Sun faces off with Saturn, which can make everything feel harder, slower or considerably more serious than it needs to be. If somebody tells you no, puts up a roadblock or suddenly develops a rule book, resist the urge to ram the gate.
The signal returns Sunday evening, and by Monday afternoon you're back in the driver's seat.
In light of such energy, the best plan this weekend is no plan at all.

Friday: Gusty, with flying debris by afternoon. Words travel fast and hit hard today, so mind what you say and who you say it to. The Moon moves into homebody Cancer in the afternoon, and by early evening there's a break in the clouds: inspiration, creativity and a graceful exit from whatever got heated. Take it.
Saturday: Overcast, with a heavy front rolling in. Venus does her thing, and early morning brings the peak of the weekend's power struggle. Resolve to be above the fight. Then the mood turns inward, and it's a good time to clear out what you're done carrying. From late morning on, the Moon goes off the grid. Low visibility, so stay off the roads of life.
Sunday: Fog, clearing late day.
The morning brings a hard look at limits, duties and what reality will (or won’t) allow. It's honest, maybe a little chilly. The fog hangs around most of the day, so keep plans loose and expectations low. By early evening the Moon moves into Leo and the signal comes back. Something warmer moves in.
Monday: Hot emotional temps, giving way to clearer skies. You'll wake up fired up and maybe a little prickly. Watch the Monday-morning emails, and watch your heart, because Venus still has one more jab before noon. By afternoon things clear into steady, sunny confidence. You're back in the driver's seat.

AIR SIGNS (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius)
Words are usually your currency, but this weekend they land harder than intended. Play mysterious to guard your inner peace. Libra, it's your season and Venus is your ruler, so the "who's actually showing up for me?" question has your name on it. Aquarius, you're in the line of fire of Mars and Pluto's standoff. Just take cover. Gem, your brain is fast, but your mouth may be in need of a filter.

WATER SIGNS (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces)
Yup, welcome to the deep end of the emotional pool this weekend. You'll feel all of it. And by “all,” we mean everything everywhere all at once. Venus turns around in Scorpio, and the Moon spends most of the weekend at home in Cancer, so feelings are flooding the scene. Pisces, you're either less impacted or better suited for this weekend.
